OctaneRPG is a stat-driven racing RPG where players buy, customize, and race cars while leveling up, earning rewards, and competing in multiplayer races. It blends the vibe of Forza / Need for Speed vehicle progression with idle/RPG progression systems inspired by games like Legend of Mushroom and engagement loops like Tatsumaki.
Current direction: The core systems were proven as a Discord bot (multiplayer racing, vehicle stats, upgrades, blessings). Because Discord embeds are limiting, the long-term plan is to evolve this into a standalone game (Unity-first) while keeping the same “fast loop, deep builds” gameplay.

Why it’s fun
- Buildcraft: Stats matter — horsepower/torque/grip/fuel efficiency all shape race outcomes.
- Races feel dynamic: Weather + track conditions shift the odds (e.g., high grip builds do better in rain).
- Progression loop that sticks: Daily/weekly challenges, PvP leaderboards, and events keep players coming back.
Core Loop
- Earn money & XP via races, jobs, and minigames (Lottery, Feasts, Shrine).
- Upgrade & customize vehicles using parts/upgrades and optimize your build.
- Compete in PvE, PvP, or group events (car meets / crew races).
- Progress to unlock more cars, tracks, and bonuses.

Vehicles & Garage
- Car collection: buy and manage multiple vehicles.
- Dealership loop: buy/sell cars; expand garage capacity over time.
Upgrades & Customization
- Modify stats via junkyard parts and upgrades.
- Pixel-art-first UI/vehicle icons (built to feel good on mobile).
Race Modes
- Single-player + multiplayer racing (PvE / PvP).
- Group racing with friends.
- Boss races: high-difficulty AI opponents every ~10 levels.
- AI scaling tied to player level.
Blessings (Shrine System)
Earn passive bonuses (luck and stat boosters) through shrine sacrifices — designed to create long-term build variety.
Crews / Social
- Guilds/Crews enable social progression + team-based play.
- Events (holiday/seasonal) can introduce new maps and skins.
NPC Encounters
A lightweight “world spice” layer:
- Police raids can disrupt races with penalties.
- Part thieves lurk in the junkyard.
- Missions/decisions can impact reputation and future opportunities.
- Future “phone/notifications” system to deliver messages and alerts.

Tech & Tools
Target: Mobile-first (portrait) with possible Web support (itch.io). Engine: Unity (preferred). Backend/DB: Currently MongoDB for the bot; evaluating options for the standalone (PlayFab mentioned as a possibility). Tools: VS Code, Unity, Aseprite.
Current State

- Expanding scope toward a standalone game due to Discord embed limitations.
